Historically, our district has needed an
average 3.3% tax increase each year to account
for general operations budget.
The table below shows the estimated tax increases needed each year with the addition of the new middle school costs highlighted in yellow.
​How can UPSD be sure they can raise taxes enough in Year 1, 2, 3 or 4 to cover the cost of
a new building and at the same time keep
delivering the same academic programs?

Our Property Taxes Increase Every Year for the School District's General Operations Budget
The problem:
UPSD General Operations Budget: This fund is used to support the general school district operations which include staff, retirement, and other benefit increases along with curriculum enhancements and operational needs.
